If you’re listing any property for sale with a licensed real estate agent from 1 January 2019 be aware that under new legislation real estate agents are required to conduct “Customer Due Diligence” as set out under the NZ Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

This will mean providing your listing agent with certain forms of identification prior to signing an agency agreement.

HERE is a brief page that refer to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 Compliance and Real Estate Agents required “Customer Due Diligence” which are Effective as of 1 January 2019.
