Something to Consider

Consider This

Green help to the rescue!
No, we’re not talking about the unsightly mould that grows in a lot of New Zealand homes, but the plants that assist in cleaning the air during winter.

For a small investment, you can start cleaning your home today to make your living environment healthier and more aesthetic.
Houseplants assist in getting rid of indoor air pollutants and toxins. They contribute to balanced internal humidity and counteract off-gassing (the release of chemicals in a gas form from certain materials in the home.)
There are 10 plants that have been found to be the most effective in cleaning indoor air and balancing internal humidity.
These are: Areca palm, Reed palm, Dwarf date palm, Boston fern, Janet Craig dracaena, English Ivy, Australian sword fern, Peace Lily, Rubber plant and Weeping fig.

Use 2 or 3 house plants for every 20 to 25 square yards of floor space. I personally have a Peace Lilly in every room, with a few other varieties of indoor plants to spice things up.
Most houseplants do not have to be positioned in direct sun and most actually do better in indirect light.  Avoid placing them in a draft as this reduces their ability to purify the air.
With a little care, these green helpers will start to work for you immediately to improve the quality of your indoor air and to beautify your home environment.
